Museo Casa Alcide De Gasperi, Pieve Tesino, Italy

Alcide de Gasperi (1881-1954), one of the "Fathers of Europe", was born in this house which today is a museum highlighting his contribution to the construction of Europe after World War II.

He served as Foreign Affairs Minister and Italian Prime Minister from 1945 to 1953, supported Schuman's plans and then led the European Coal and Steel Community (ECSC).

Furthermore, he was an inspiring force in the creation of the European Economic Community.
