Music Moves Europe Awards 2023 – these are the nominees

The name of the 15 outstanding artists have been announced at the MaMa Music Convention and Festival in Paris.

Music Moves Europe Awards 2023

The Music Moves Europe Awards are the European Union Prize for emerging artists representing the sound of today and tomorrow. The aim of the awards is to celebrate upcoming European artists and support them in developing their international careers.

These are the 15 nominees of 2023

  • Queralt Lahoz (Spain)
  • Sans Soucis (Italy)
  • schmyt (Germany)
  • The Haunted Youth (Belgium)

Vote for your favourite artist!

Music fans across Europe are now invited to vote for their favourite artist on the Music Moves Europe Awards website [link: www.mmeawards.eu].

The nominee with the most votes will win the Public Choice Award.

Ladaniva, from Armenia, winner of the 2022 Public Choice Award, now a member of the jury for 2023 said:

It will be great for everyone to discover these interesting artists from different countries. Europe has a lot to offer musically.

Awards ceremony and prizes

Out of the 15 nominees, an international jury will select five artists for the Music Moves Europe Awards and one artist for the Grand Jury Prize.

The name of the winners will be revealed at the Music Moves Europe Awards ceremony on Thursday 19 January 2023 at the Eurosonic festival (ESNS) in Groningen, the Netherlands.

Each winner will receive €10 000. On top of that, the Grand Jury Prize winner gets a green touring voucher worth €5 000 and the winner of the Public Choice Award will receive €5 000 as well.

All 15 nominees are invited for a business education day, with best practices in the music industry, organised by ESNS, Reeperbahn Festival and its partners Liveurope, Yourope, Live DMA, IMPALA, Digital Music Europe, ICMP-CIEM, International Music Managers Forum (IMMF) and European Music Exporters Exchange (EMEE).

Background

The Music Moves Europe Awards is co-funded by the Creative Europe programme. The awards are designed to accelerate the international careers of upcoming European artists.
