2024 European Heritage Label Monitoring report published
The expert panel confirmed the added value to the European Heritage Label action of the 67 labelled sites.

A panel of independent experts evaluated the performance between 2020-2024 of the 67 European Heritage Label (EHL) sites. These sites represent 250 locations across 22 countries.
The expert panel reported significant progress in achieving the objectives of the action, especially in recognising the sites contribution to European history and cultural diversity. The EHL sites acknowledged the benefits of the EU Label for supporting international cooperation and raising their European profile. In addition, 77% of sites found that the EHL Bureau support benefitted their work.
All 67 sites continued to make progress in achieving the goals of the action despite the impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic and have maintained their place in the action.
How the monitoring of EHL sites is done
European Heritage Label sites are monitored every 4 years to ensure they continue to meet the criteria for the award of the European Heritage Label.

Independent experts select European Heritage Label sites based on their symbolic European value and their significant role in the history and culture of Europe and/or the building of the EU.
