Ten projects selected to foster collaboration among European Heritage sites
These innovative projects will receive funding to strengthen the network of European Heritage Label (EHL) sites, expand audience engagement, and highlight European identity.
The selected projects are run by at least 2 partnering EHL sites.
They will focus on four priority areas identified through consultations with site representatives.
- Youth engagement: drawing young people into cultural activities and enhancing their connection with European heritage
- Digital outreach: developing digital tools and online platforms to increase site accessibility and reach broader audiences
- Climate action and sustainability: supporting “green” initiatives in line with the EU's sustainability goals
- Citizenship and European identity: promoting public dialogue on European heritage and cultural integration
Next steps
The projects will start in early 2025. Their outcomes are expected to enrich the visibility and impact of European Heritage sites.
The EHL Bureau, which manages the EHL community, will share progress with the wider EHL community and the public.
Background
In July 2024, the EHL Bureau announced a call for projects for European Heritage Label sites, with the support of the Creative Europe programme.
The objective was to strengthen citizens’ sense of belonging to the EU through innovative initiatives and collaborative partnerships among EHL sites.
On 10 December 2024, the EHL Bureau announced the selection of ten collaborative projects proposed by EHL sites.
This initiative is the first financial support dedicated exclusively to EHL sites, with a total budget of €300,000 aimed at fostering collaboration, outreach, and sustainability.
