The circular economy and quality of life sub-programme aims to facilitate the transition toward a sustainable, circular, toxic-free, energy-efficient and climate-resilient economy, and at protecting, restoring and improving the quality of the environment
The sub-programme involves direct interventions, or can support the integration of those aims in other policies.
Thus, LIFE will continue to co-finance projects in the environmental sector, in particular in the area of the circular economy. This will include the recovery of resources from waste, water, air, noise, soil and chemical management, as well as environmental governance.
Action grants will be awarded to projects that implement innovative and best practice solutions in these areas.
For the cultural and creative sectors, the New European Bauhaus (NEB) initiative is part of the sub-programme priorities. It involves environmental, economic and cultural projects that consider nature and biodiversity elements, and which combine design, sustainability, accessibility and affordability in order to help deliver the European Green Deal.
