The activities under the ‘Widening participation and strengthening the European Research Area’ sub-programme are aimed at promoting the dissemination and exploitation of research results by reinforcing the interaction between education and research. Cultural and creative stakeholders can be involved as partners in research projects aimed at strengthening regional innovation excellence, involving ecosystems of different actors that can spread knowledge and widen participation in the research and innovation process. The main focus and priorities outlined for this cluster will be relevant for the period 2021-2022, while new priorities and goals under this cluster will be issued through a new working programme and calls after 2022.

• The Overseas Countries and Territories (OCTs) linked to the Member States;
• Eligible non-EU countries (countries associated to Horizon Europe).
