AMIF has a specific focus on early-integration measures, with a possibility for higher than standard co-financing rate for local and regional authorities, and civil society. The new programme predominantly focuses on early stages of integration and the overall aims are the following:

  • Developing and fostering the Common European Asylum System, including its external dimension;
  • Supporting legal migration to the Member States and facilitating the integration of third-country nationals;
  • Reducing irregular migration and improving the effectiveness of return and re-admission in third countries;
  • Enhancing solidarity and fair sharing of responsibility between the Member States.

Who can apply
Legal organisations established in a Member State participating in the AMIF or established in third countries associated to the AMIF can participate in the calls for proposals.

The AMIF is implemented under shared, direct or indirect management. The largest part of the resources (63.5% of the total budget) will be allocated to the Member States’ programmes under shared management.
