The European Commission and the EUmies Foundation announced the winners of the EUmies Awards Young Talent 2025 on 19 June, at the EUmies Awards Day:
These awards – and today’s event – are dedicated to you, exceptional young talent in European architecture. The next generation shaping Europe’s built environment. Crafting spaces that reflect our unique history, shared values, and our ambition for the future. Designing more sustainable, inclusive, and resilient places for us to live and thrive in. As I always say, Europe’s architecture – today’s culture – is tomorrow’s heritage. And your work is essential to making sure that future generations inherit a Europe that reflects our shared vision. For greener, more open, and inclusive societies. Where everyone feels that they belong.
– said Glenn Micallef, European Commissioner for Intergenerational Fairness, Youth, Culture and Sport, congratulating the winners in a video message delivered during the ceremony.
The award ceremony took place in Palazzo Michiel in Venice, as part of a side event at the Venice Biennale. The event also included debates with the winners as well as an update of the exhibition “Intelligens. Talent – Eumies Awards. Young Talent 2025”.
About the EUmies Awards Young Talent
The awards recognize outstanding student projects that address today's pressing social, urban, and environmental challenges. The selected projects go beyond conventional architectural practice, tackling issues such as urban fragmentation, climate resilience, interim reuse, and community-driven design. The awards offer visibility and opportunity to young architects. The winners will also benefit from ongoing support through networking opportunities.
The Young Talent Award is granted every second year to three recently graduated architects, urban planners and landscape architects.
It is organised by the Foundation Mies van der Rohe with the support of Creative Europe, in partnership with the European Association for Architectural Education (EAAE) and the Architects' Council of Europe (ACE-CAE).
