Europe’s 7 most endangered sites of 2026 revealed
The 7 Most Endangered programme highlights each year seven European heritage sites at risk.
On 26 February, Europa Nostra announced the list of the 7 most endangered monuments and heritage sites in Europe for 2026:
- Katapola Village and Ancient City of Minoa, Greece
- Fábri Watermill, Feked, Hungary
- Blower Hall, Esch-sur-Alzette, Luxembourg
- British Barracks at Fort Chambray, Gozo, Malta
- Vale de Milhaços Gunpowder Factory, Seixal, Portugal
- Reformed Church of Sântămăria Orlea, Romania
- Weifert's Brewery, Pančevo, Serbia
The board of Europa Nostra selected the finalists from the heritage sites previously shortlisted by the advisory panel of the programme.
About the 7 Most Endangered programme
The initiative draws attention to significant cultural assets that are at risk and in need of preservation efforts.
The 7 Most Endangered programme started in 2013 and is part of a civil society campaign to save Europe's endangered heritage. The programme is run by Europa Nostra and supported by the European Investment Bank Institute and the Creative Europe programme through the network project ‘Europa Nostra Heritage Agora’.
