Culture Moves Europe: 150 residency projects selected
The 2025-2026 call for residency hosts received 1 326 applications from 38 Creative Europe countries. There will be match-making sessions in early June to bring together residency hosts and potential residents.
Budget
The combined budget of the call is more than €2.1 million. The grants per project depend on the duration (between 21 and 90 days) and the number of invited artists and cultural professionals (from 1 to 5).
Next selection
The selected residency projects plan to host 581 artists and cultural professionals from different Creative Europe countries, which are selected in the second phase of the selection procedure. The submissions are reviewed on a rolling basis.
Match-making sessions coming up in June
Selected hosts have until 30 September 2026 to select and confirm their residents. In the meantime, projects with early implementation dates can already start from early June 2026. All projects must be concluded by 7 June 2027.
Goethe-Institut is organising online match-making sessions on 5 and 10 June to bring together residency hosts and potential residents.
Spanning 38 countries
The selected residencies are based in 38 countries, including Moldova, that joined the Creative Europe programme in January 2026.
There are 3 hosts planning residencies in Overseas Countries and Territories or Outermost Regions: 2 in the Azores and 1 in Curaçao.
42% of selected hosts planned their residency in rural areas, 40% in cities, and the remainder in small towns and suburbs. Only a sixth of hosts planned their residency in a capital city.

Among the selected organisations, hosts have a range of experience with residencies. 16% will be hosting their first ever residents. 31% have already hosted more than 50 residents in past projects.
15% of selected hosts applied with projects connected with the New European Bauhaus and its values.
