These are the winners of the Music Moves Europe Awards 2022

The winners of the EU prize for popular and contemporary music were revealed on 20 January 2022 at a hybrid award ceremony at the Eurosonic Noorderslag festival.

The Grand Jury MME Award 2022 goes to:

Meskerem Mees (Belgium)

The other winners of the 2022 MME Awards are:

  • Mezerg (France)
  • Alina Pash (Ukraine)
  • Denise Chaila (Ireland)
  • Дeva (Hungary)
  • Blanks (The Netherlands)

And the laureate of the Public Choice Award is:

  • Ladaniva (Armenia)

The expert jury selected 5 winners for the Music Moves Europe Awards and - for the first time - the winner of the new Grand Jury prize. This last goes to the most outstanding revelation among the 15 nominees [link: https://ec.europa.eu/culture/news/music-moves-europe-awards-2022-these-are-the-nominees]. At the same time fans across the world voted online for their favourite artist, the Public Choice Winner.

During the Eurosonic Noorderslag festival, the public had the opportunity to discover these emerging talents as part of the showcase programme which was again an online event this year.

Supporting emerging talents in their international career

The EU prize for popular and contemporary music not only celebrates new emerging talents all over Europe in all their diversity but also supports each of them with a money prize of €10 000 and a training programme to boost their international career. In addition, the Public Choice winner receives a money prize of €5 000.

Background

The Music Moves Europe Awards are co-funded by Creative Europe, the EU funding programme for the culture and audiovisual sectors, and are implemented by Eurosonic Noorderslag and Reeperbahn Festival with the support of partners from the music industry.
