About the award ceremony

 

The award ceremony of the 2026 edition of the European Union Prize for Literature took place during the Warsaw Book Fair on May 29 at 19:00 (CET). The jury of the prize announced:

  • the winner of the Grand Prix
  • the two special mentions for the 2026 edition

For this edition, emerging authors from 14 countries participating in the Creative Europe programme were shortlisted in February 2026.

About the European Union Prize for Literature

The prize is an annual initiative of the Creative Europe programme. It started in 2009 to recognise the best European emerging authors and celebrate the linguistic diversity and excellence of literature in countries participating in the Creative Europe programme.
