Culture Moves Europe: 2,542 grantees selected
Here are the numbers for the latest edition of the individual mobility grant.
Between October 2025 and April 2026, for the call for individual mobility we received a record number of 7,831 applications, requesting €27,155,425 in total.
After careful consideration from the jury and evaluators, 1,596 projects were awarded a Culture Moves Europe (CME) grant. 2,542 artists and cultural professionals, who requested €5,499,825 in total, were directly supported.
Culture Moves Europe serves as an entry point for EU funding: 76% of applicants had no previous experience applying to other EU funding schemes.

Selected projects receive more support
The average grantee receives around 20% more financial support than they did in the 2022-2025 edition of CME.
Supporting people with different needs
We also see an increase in people benefiting from inclusion top-ups and accessibility support in this edition of the individual mobility call.
- 12% of grantees claimed the family top-up – around double the number in CME 2022-2025
- 3% of grantees claimed the Overseas Countries and Territories/ Outermost Regions (OCT/OR) top-up
- Out of the 46 projects involving OCT/OR travel, 46% involved people residing in one these territories
- 3% of grantees claimed the visa top-up
- Overall, nearly 1 in 5 of grantees expect to benefit from an inclusion top-up or accessibility support
The importance of green travel
Numbers about more sustainable means of travel are encouraging, with many of the grantees planning alternatives to airplane travel, opting for bus, train, shared cars instead.
- 56% of planned journeys are by means other than airplane
- 983 green top-ups have been requested by grantees
- below 1,000km, 85% of journeys planned use other means than airplanes
- based on the activity reports received so far, 46% of lead grantees wrote that the green top-up was either extremely influential or very influential in the decision to travel green
Representing Creative Europe’s diversity
While 77% of grantees live in urban areas, Culture Moves Europe does not happen only in big cities:
- 12% reside in towns or suburbs, 11% in rural areas
- 66% planned to visit an urban destination, 14% a town or suburb, and 20% a rural area
- grantees are residents in 263 national regions, and plan to visit destinations in 241 regions
- applicants from Moldova, the newest member of Creative Europe, responded to the call with 25 applications resulting in 8 selected projects
- At activity report stage, 44% of lead grantees say the mobility was their first time visiting their destination country for professional purposes
