ALMADÉN (CIUDAD REAL) (SPAIN), 1st CENTURY UNTIL NOW
The Almadén Mining Park, originally operated as mercury mine, is a complex of twenty buildings and infrastructures located in Spain.
As a centre of applied technological innovation for the last 500 years, it has become a model in the evolution of mining. The site is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and member of The European Industrial Heritage Association as well as an Anchor Point on the European Route of Industrial Heritage. It exemplifies the long-standing European Industrial Heritage and its significance in the European citizenship and economic development process.
