Creative Europe announces the results of its 2024 calls

Here’s a look at what the Creative Europe programme has delivered in 2024.

The Creative Europe programme has successfully supported the creative and cultural sectors with the following five actions in 2024.

On this page you will find information about the main results of these five calls for proposals:

Cooperation projects

160 projects were invited to the grant agreement phase. The total budget of the call is €59 730 025.

The projects receiving support cover all cultural and creative sectors, including

  • the performing arts sector
  • art in public spaces
  • digital arts
  • cultural heritage
  • books and publishing

A growing number of projects deal with themes of mental health and people with various disabilities, using diverse methodologies.

Several projects support the Ukrainian cultural and creative sectors, and 22 projects involve a Ukrainian partner.

Circulation of literary works

42 proposals were recommended for funding with coordinators coming from 20 Creative Europe countries. A quarter of them are newcomers to the programme. The budget of this call is €5 million.

530 books from 455 writers have been selected for translation. 525 translators will be working on translating these books from 37 languages into 29 target languages.

Four proposals led by Ukrainian publishers, and one proposal with a Ukrainian partner, have been selected, contributing to the translation of 51 Ukrainian literary works into 13 European languages. Another 77 European books coming from 11 languages were selected for translation into Ukrainian.

European networks of cultural and creative organisations

39 projects that enhance the capacity of European cultural and creative sectors to nurture talents, to face common challenges, to innovate, to prosper and to generate jobs and growth have been selected for funding.

The selected projects cater for a combined direct membership of over 5 000 organisations, covering all Creative Europe countries and beyond. The total budget of the action is €44 323 000.

Pan-European cultural entities

Five projects involving cultural organisations from Austria, Germany, North Macedonia, Portugal, and Spain have been selected for support, with a total budget of €10,86 million.

More than a thousand young European musicians will take part in the projects’ activities.

European platforms for the promotion of emerging artists

18 platforms will implement projects to increase the visibility and circulation of more than 8 500 emerging European artists and their work, to develop their careers and talent. The total budget of the action is €49,5 million.

Fairness, inclusiveness, and diversity are at the heart of selected proposals, tackling particularly gender gap and equal opportunities. All the selected projects are committed to environmental sustainability.

The platforms provide tailor-made responses to the needs and challenges of emerging talents, offering them targeted professional opportunities in terms of mobility, training, incubation, and development, as well as remuneration.
