This preparatory action aims to set up and/or develop European media platforms that improve citizens’ access to trusted information from across the EU. Initiatives funded under this call will include editorial and technical media projects involving broadcasters, publishers, media developers and other organisations from across the EU active in the media sector, to enhance and expand their content offer through innovative formats and increase their reach.

Applicants should consider two aspects. The first is technological: they should include technical tools (such as facilitating translation arrangements, text to text, speech to text and speech to speech, AI-based and open source technologies, search engines, transparent algorithms or content recommendation systems…).

The second is editorial/organisational: the projects should enable and later count on sustained cooperation among news media organisations and technology developers. Transparent and agreed rules covering editorial and legal aspects should provide a clear cooperation basis.
