Culture and Creativity

The New European Bauhaus initiative aims to develop a creative and interdisciplinary movement that connects the European Green Deal to the everyday life of the EU citizens. The initiative is being co-designed through the direct involvement of citizens, experts, businesses, and Institutions and it aims to:

The Invest EU SME window facilitates access to and availability of finance primarily for SMEs and small mid-cap companies, including innovative ones and those operating in the cultural and creative sectors, as well as for small mid-cap companies. In addition, it offers capital support to SMEs that were not in difficulty in State aid terms already at the end of 2019, but since then face significant risks due to the crisis caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.

The objective of the MEDIA 360° support is to exploit synergies among existing ecosystems, to develop further cooperation potential, to reach economies of scale across different supported activities, create impact across the value-chain. The action shall support a package of activities related to facilitating the creation and promotion of European content, and/or the uptake of new technologies or business models for the audiovisual sector.

The objective of the Markets & networking support is to enhance the promotion of European content in the global market and to foster cooperation among all parts of the audiovisual value chain for the co-creation and promotion of European audiovisual works. Cooperation of audiovisual professionals and promotion of European works are pursued by supporting two types of projects and activities:
• Markets focusing on a specific type of films and innovative content, or networking of markets that present similar genre/topics or are located in the same region;

In a context in which the European media sector is struggling to offer accessible, plural and innovative content to European audiences, this call proposes to support European media hubs producing and disseminating pluralistic news and factual content across Europe.
Applicants targeted include news media organisations and other organisations active in the media sector managing or willing to set-up media hubs (e.g. physical or virtual newsrooms).

The goal of the pilot project is to promote the preservation of a pluralistic media environment of the countries affected by war in Ukraine, also whilst journalists and media are working from an exile. The broader aim is to make Europe a safer place by helping the people of these countries in their democratic aspirations, where independent media play an indispensable role.

The pilot project aims to contribute to a functioning public sphere which equips citizens with news and documentaries in modern audience format, necessary to contribute to European democracy, across borders and available in their own Member State, addressing challenges such as the domination of the European public sphere by a few powerful TV and video news platforms and corporations based outside Europe, and the changing consumer behaviour towards infotainment formats.

The main premise of this call is that a joint approach of the digital with the arts will help induce changes in our mind-sets, at business, societal and individual level regarding water management and help communicate differently about water to raise public awareness on the importance of water, for example by using art and digital to reinforce emotional links of humans with water.

This preparatory action aims to set up and/or develop European media platforms that improve citizens’ access to trusted information from across the EU. Initiatives funded under this call will include editorial and technical media projects involving broadcasters, publishers, media developers and other organisations from across the EU active in the media sector, to enhance and expand their content offer through innovative formats and increase their reach.

The purpose of this preparatory action “Writing European” is to help the European audiovisual industry to develop excellence in creating and writing high-quality drama content and foster innovative storytelling. It aims to promote co-writing practices, thereby also enlarging the experience of creative talents working on fiction series.
