Culture and Creativity

The pilot project aims to contribute to a functioning public sphere which equips citizens with news and documentaries in modern audience format, necessary to contribute to European democracy, across borders and available in their own Member State, addressing challenges such as the domination of the European public sphere by a few powerful TV and video news platforms and corporations based outside Europe, and the changing consumer behaviour towards infotainment formats.

For this purpose, it will allow citizens to search all content provided by public and private TV stations in Member States and provide translated subtitles in all EU languages of these news and documentaries. The platform will seek to establish a technology alliance and a content alliance among interested actors in Member States for accommodating rich and varied own content productions, including upcoming augmented reality content, from the many stations in the Member States.

All the necessary building blocks for the realisation of this project are available and merely need to be brought together, by yet anticipating future trends towards augmented content presentation and AI- supported operations.
