Culture and Creativity

This preparatory action aims to set up and/or develop European media platforms that improve citizens’ access to trusted information from across the EU. Initiatives funded under this call will include editorial and technical media projects involving broadcasters, publishers, media developers and other organisations from across the EU active in the media sector, to enhance and expand their content offer through innovative formats and increase their reach.

This call aims at funding a project to enhance the production, curation and dissemination of professional and multilingual news media content (as well as informative, non-fictional programming) around EU affairs, in at least five Union languages, across one or several European delivery platform models.

The action Subtitling of cultural content aims to ensure access to audiovisual content for all EU citizens and therefore increase the circulation of the European cultural programming across Europe. This action will support the provision of subtitles covering content in at least 3 languages on diverse European cultural content. It shall also aim at guaranteeing the online dissemination of this subtitled content.

Support will be given to European festivals programming a significant proportion of non-national European audiovisual works, aiming at year-long activities targeted to expand and renew audiences and implementing innovative audience outreach activities as well as initiatives for young audiences.

The European co-development action shall support the cooperation among European production companies in developing a single project for commercial exploitation intended for cinema release, television broadcasting or commercial exploitation on digital platforms or a multi-platform environment in the following categories: animation, creative documentary or fiction.

The objective is to support initiatives promoting audience development and engagement, including film education activities, addressing in particular young audiences.

The objective of the support to TV and online content is to increase the capacity of audiovisual producers to develop and produce strong projects with significant potential to circulate throughout Europe and beyond, and to facilitate European and international co-productions within the television and online sector.

Cluster 2, ‘Culture, Creativity and Inclusive Society’ aims to meet EU goals and priorities linked to: • Enhancing democratic governance and citizens participation; • Safeguarding and promoting cultural heritage; and • Responding to and shaping social, economic, technological and cultural transformations. Proposals can undertake innovative research on: • Democracy and Governance; • European Cultural Heritage and the Cultural and Creative Industries; • Social and Economic Transformations.

FARNET is the community of people implementing Community-Led Local Development (CLLD) under the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund (EMFF). This community brings together Fisheries Local Action Groups (FLAGs), managing authorities, citizens and experts from across the EU, to work on the sustainable development of fisheries and coastal areas. In the past, projects related to arts and crafts, as well as cultural heritage have often been supported by this initiative.
